Michaela McParland
I approach product design by empathising with the end-user, every step of the way. Combining research, strategy, and Design Thinking to map out the user’s end-to-end experience. I also worked in hospitality for 10 years, from serving in the local to bartending in Times Square.

VRAI
VRAI create hazardous training simulation with AI using mixed reality.
My role is to understand and map out the possible user flows, and user journeys, identify the objectives needed for fluidity from initial contact to project delivery and delegate these tasks between the team while leading the visual style.
I design new features to improve the user experience in simulation and create our prototypes. These are for mobile/desktop, augmented reality, and spatial and diegetic UI for virtual reality.
Throughout projects, I ensure we align with users’ and customers’ expectations. I am a product owner for a military aircraft operation and project lead for a conceptual augmented reality application.
I am also the brand owner for our VR Simulation Training Data platform, designing the brand, ensuring the team uses the design system correctly and signing off on the visual and UX of project deliveries.
Design Intern
Deloitte Digital
In my summer internship as a designer with Deloitte Digital, the most professional work I was part of was the overhaul of a new brand identity for one of Ireland’s largest Irish telecommunication agencies.
Print Designer
Reads
In a fast-paced print studio for weddings and corporate material, I would identify the client’s needs, create the brief, and design mockups and samples. I would then iterate this, aligning with the customer’s needs and wants. Then into production, ensure correct materials, weights, and finishes are used for our customer’s satisfaction.
Graphic Designer
kArton Galeria
As part of the Leonardo Da Vinci programme, I was one of four students selected to travel to Hungary to experience life & work alongside designers of a gallery in Budapest. I created invitations and posters for their upcoming exhibitions. I designed digital wireframes for a new project they were working on at the time and a little bit of heavy lifting to help set up for events and exhibitions as they came up.
